Review Clinical skills IV Therapy, Phlebotomy and EKG IV Therapy procedures; how to care for patients receiving Intravenous therapy, selecting appropriate veins, performing venipuncture – IV insertion, Tegaderm dressing application, priming IV tubing, flushing extensions, hanging IV Fluid bags, discontinuing the IV access as well as calculating IV flow rates. Phlebotomy practice sessions include drawing blood via vacutainer, butterfly and syringe methods. EKG 12 lead application and EKG Interpretation; Review how to take a 12-lead EKG, describe accurate landmarks to place the limb and precordial leads, how to review EKG strips in a systematic manner, review EKG strip analysis - P, Q, R, S,T waveform interpretation and more. The course will allow the participant to practice skills on manikins so that the learner will have increased confidence to work in the Hospital, Long term care, skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health care, MD Office, Clinics and other Healthcare settings.
