This course equips healthcare professionals with skills in Phlebotomy, IV Therapy, and Injection techniques. It covers the integumentary system, vascular system, legal and professional standards, infection control, and handling venipuncture complications. Phlebotomy Skills: Classroom lectures, video skills, and hands-on training in venipuncture and blood draw. Practice on manikins, including vacutainer, butterfly, syringe methods, tourniquet application, and vein selection. IV Therapy: Guidelines for safe IV therapy delivery and management. Understanding patient care, venous system, fluid/electrolyte balance, peripheral veins, venipuncture, catheter usage, specific IV therapies, equipment, and complications. Administration of IV solutions, medications, parenteral nutrition, blood transfusion. Legal aspects and infection control standards. Injection Skills: Guidelines for intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, and z-track injections. Site selection, needle gauge/size, safe disposal, and infection control. This course is ideal for LPNs, RNs, and Medical Assistants looking to refresh or enhance their skills in these critical areas.
