This course is designed for LPNs, RNs, CNSs, and ARNPs in Florida. It covers state-specific nursing laws and rules, focusing on the Florida Administrative Code (64B9), and Chapters 464 and 456 of the Florida Statutes. The course is a response to the Florida Board of Nursing's rule, effective April 21, 2013, mandating continuing education on nursing laws and rules. From 2015, nursing licensees must complete a two-hour course on these topics. Objectives Post-course, participants will: Understand specific laws for nursing and nursing assistants. Grasp the Nurse Practice Act's purpose. Learn about the nursing discipline process. Define the Intervention Program for Nurses. Discuss legal practice and patient record requirements. Understand licensure and renewal procedures. Explore Florida's Documentation and Continuing Education standards. Discuss Nursing licensure by endorsement and examination.
