This 6-hour course provides healthcare professionals with key skills in Phlebotomy and IV Therapy. It focuses on the reasons for these procedures, the integumentary system's connection to them, and knowledge about the vascular system. The course also covers legal and professional standards, infection control, and how to handle complications from venipuncture procedures. Practice sessions on manikins and individuals, covering tourniquet application, vein selection, and blood drawing using various methods. Intravenous Therapy training on patient care, venous system, fluid/electrolyte balance, peripheral veins, common IV terms, venipuncture, catheter use, specific IV therapies, and managing IV complications. Training on different IV equipment, administering IV solutions, medications, parenteral nutrition, blood transfusions. Focus on legal aspects, infection control, and scope of practice. Skills in IV insertions, spiking and hanging IV fluids, priming IV tubing, and troubleshooting techniques.
