***THIS IS NOT THE 30 Hr COURSE*** The purpose of the intravenous (I.V.) therapy Professional Development Course / IV Therapy Infusion is to assist the individual to gain IV Therapy knowledge, enrich your understanding, provide IV Infusion training, as well as information needed to work in an infusion clinic, hospital or other areas within the community. The Professional Development course assists the learners who want to upgrade existing IV Therapy skills and is also great for those who need to refresh. The Professional Development course also provides a Train the Trainer concept; gives you the knowledge and confidence to train others, great course for Personnel who must supervise, assist, and direct others, the course gives additional information for those who desire to start up a business. OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this course, the participants will be able to: 1. Describe guidelines for the delivery and safe management of Intravenous therapy, 2. Describe various aspects of intravenous (IV) therapy, 3. Describe how to care for patients receiving Intravenous therapy, 4. Discuss details regarding the venous system, peripheral veins, 5. Describe correct administration of Intravenous solutions, medications, chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, blood transfusion via various delivery methods, 12. Describe the legal aspect of IV therapy, 13. Discuss infection control standards and the scope of practice, 14. Discuss the State requirements regarding business start up.
