This course offers extensive practice in IV skills, approved for all Nurses (LPN, RN, ARNP, Dentists), and ideal for those refreshing skills or returning to clinical practice. It covers: Intravenous insertion/ IV Start, tourniquet application, vein selection, IV catheter size selection, and infusion type, Dressing application, spiking bags, Priming IV tubing, hanging IV solutions. Understanding primary, piggyback, secondary, Microdrip & Macrodrip infusion sets; using volume-controlled sets like Buretrol. Flushing IV extensions, protocols, filter tubing. Using infusion and syringe pumps. End cap changes, injection cap maintenance. IV discontinuation, IV therapy via Midline Catheters & Central lines Accessing/de-accessing central line ports. Administering IV solutions, medications (antibiotics, chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, blood transfusion, immunoglobulins). Overview of Central Lines (P.I.C.C., tunneled/non-tunneled catheters, PORTS).
