The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of critical thinking. Review strategies to manage communication issues in the workplace, specific ways to integrate critical thinking and effective interpersonal communication skills in the day-to-day decision making, working, and communicating with the healthcare team to make sure that the patient’s needs are effectively met. Implementing critical thinking measures to assist in effectively working with patients with cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's disease, to review issues related to medical errors, various types and cause of errors, ways to avoid errors, importance of effective communication among the health care team, and regulations in place to ensure patient safety.
